DESCRIPTION:Our annual Santa Cyclocross is back for another year of muddy fun with tinsel on top! \n\n\n\nAs always we will be having a range of races to suit all ages and abilities. The racing kicks off with our youngest riders at 10:15am and we move through the morning on to the older categories.The race will be at Linlithgow Leisure Centre with the race course being on the Right hand side as you enter the venue. Parking is available on site. For youths we will be running races for all our riders the age categories are based as follows: \n\n\n\nUnder 8 – Born 2015 or laterUnder 10 – Born 2013 or 2014Under 12 – Born 2011 or 2012Under 14 – Born 2009 or 2010Under 16 – Born 2007 or 2008 \n\n\n\nFor the adults we are going to run two race both races are open for parents to enter. This gives a great opportunity for you to try out cross racing whilst your kids cheer you on. The first race will be aimed at novice riders and is a great opportunity for anyone to come along and try out cyclocross racing. This event if firmly focused on the fun element and as such the race will have no medals\, you just have the kudos of taking part. \n\n\n\nThe second race is the official Santa Cross Adult race\, this race is where those who want to take it a bit more serious can race but the emphasis is still on having fun. Even though it is the more focused race we still expect participants to get into the festive spirit those taking it too seriously might be penalised. The Santa Cross race will be also be official race for the West Lothian Clarion CX Championship. To be eligible for a Championship medal you must be a first claim member of the West Lothian Clarion. If you are not a first claim member you can still race and enjoy the event you will just not be eligible for a medal. \n\n\n\nFor all races getting into the spirit and showing your festive spirit is actively encouraged so dig out your finest festive outfits and get ready to join in the fun. Your position on the grid may be defined by the level of Christmas spirit you bring with you. As always this is a fun event where we encourage participants to come along give it a go\, get muddy and have a good laugh with their club mates. You can ride any bike you like as long as it isn’t an e-bike and it is in a safe working condition. We also ask that you remove any mudguards and pannier racks etc for the safety of other riders. At sign on you will be issued with a race number. Race numbers to be worn at the bottom of the back\, please make sure they can be seen and aren’t obscured by pony tails etc. If we cant see the number we can record them completing the lap and we want to make sure the results are accurate \n\n\n\nRefreshmentsWe will be running a beverage and cake stall with all funds raised going to the youth section. Payment will be by contactless card. All donations of cakes are greatly received.Even if you don’t want to race please come along and cheer on your clubmates whilst enjoying a hot beverage and cake.
