SUMMARY:Summer CX Rd2
DESCRIPTION:Cyclo-cross is one of the most accessible forms of cycle sport with racing for everyone from young kids to grandparents. Throughout the autumn and winter\, it’s probably taking place in a park near you. This race is as grass roots as it gets think jumpers for goal posts in the park and as such provides a great opportunity for members to try out CX for the first time\, try out new race strategies or sharpen their race craft ahead of the CX season.  It’s a great opportunity for Clarion riders to use the event to test their fitness/ tune up in summer. This event is designed to be for all and as such you can ride MTB\, CX bike or even a gravel bike. The only stipulation is no E-bikes\, no panniers or mudguards\, basically anything that might cause injury to other riders. The races is open to all current first and second claim members and it is for all from novice to experienced riders. We will need volunteers on the night\, including lap counters\, marshals and sign on\, no volunteers no race. \n\n\n\nFor our youths to allow them to prepare for the coming cyclocross season they will race the categories they will race from 1st September – ie a current second year youth C ( born 2010) will race in Youth B PARKINGMondays are very busy for the leisure centre\, with football\, and regular users of the facilities making it pretty congested. We will be an extra activity on top of what is already going on. Therefore riders where possible will need to arrive on bike if there is no space in the car park they will need to park elsewhere. ENTRY DETAILSSpond Invites will be issued for Youth Riders and Adults sign on on the nightEntries for youths will close at LUNCHTIME on MONDAY 6th June DATEMonday 6th June 2022 VOLUNTEERS1x Sign on – also one of the lap counters2x Lap counter1x First aid5x Marshals SET UPRacers set up the course and take down – only essential corners taped\, other areas can be coned off TIMINGS1. DESCRIPTION:Sprint and interval sessions on the grass at Xcite Linlithgow were originally for our youth riders but this year we’ve added an adult session to our calendar to see if folk are interested.We are half way through a 4 week block and have enough riders to run the session but are happy to include more.The sessions start with a fun skills warm up to build confidence in a bunch and develop observation. We then move into short TT efforts\, team time trials\, intervals and coach led racing The sessions are for all levels with everyone getting a work out that suits their ability. We use two ovals marked on the grass\, one inside the other. DESCRIPTION:The club 10 mile TT series runs on Sunday mornings meeting at 9am (for a 9:30am start) and is held over 10 races. Meet at Blackridge Train Station and bring a pound coin for your entry fee. \n\n\n\nPreviously the series was only open to first claim Clarion members\, but as of this year second claim members can also now take part\, making the series much more accessible. \n\n\n\nWhat this really means is that you no longer would need to leave your own club and join ours instead\, to take part. You can be a member of two clubs\, and set which is your first and which is your second claim club via the British Cycling website\, go to ‘My Dashboard>About Me>Clubs & Teams”. \n\n\n\nAlthough advantageous for a time trial\, you do not NEED a TT bike\, pointy helmet or a skinsuit to take part\, and the vast majority of our participants don’t have these things. If you are a beginner but want to give TT a try then the club 10 is the best place to start. All beginners surprise themselves with just how fast they can go.

SUMMARY:Summer CX Race Series - Race 1
DESCRIPTION:Cyclo-cross is one of the most accessible forms of cycle sport with racing for everyone from young kids to grandparents. Throughout the autumn and winter\, it’s probably taking place in a park near you. This race is as grass roots as it gets think jumpers for goal posts in the park and as such provides a great opportunity for members to try out CX for the first time\, try out new race strategies or sharpen their race craft ahead of the CX season.  It’s a great opportunity for Clarion riders to use the event to test their fitness/ tune up in summer. This event is designed to be for all and as such you can ride MTB\, CX bike or even a gravel bike. The only stipulation is no E-bikes\, no panniers or mudguards\, basically anything that might cause injury to other riders. The races is open to all current first and second claim members and it is for all from novice to experienced riders. We will need volunteers on the night\, including lap counters\, marshals and sign on\, no volunteers no race. \n\n\n\nFor our youths to allow them to prepare for the coming cyclocross season they will race the categories they will race from 1st September – ie a current second year youth C ( born 2010) will race in Youth B PARKINGMondays are very busy for the leisure centre\, with football\, and regular users of the facilities making it pretty congested. We will be an extra activity on top of what is already going on. Therefore riders where possible will need to arrive on bike if there is no space in the car park they will need to park elsewhere. ENTRY DETAILSSpond Invites will be issued for Youth Riders and Adults can sign up HERE…..Entries will close at LUNCHTIME on MONDAY 9th May DATEMonday 9th May 2022 VOLUNTEERS1x Sign on – also one of the lap counters2x Lap counter1x First aid5x Marshals SET UPRacers set up the course and take down – only essential corners taped\, other areas can be coned off TIMINGS1.
