How do i sign up?

Our nearest velodrome is the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow. To be able to race, or even to attend training sessions, you are first required to complete the four part accreditation course. If you have completed this in the past but have not attended the track for over 6 months, you will be required to do a single re-validation session.

These sessions can be booked via the Glasgow Club website. The first two sessions cost £15 each, and are 1 hour long. They cover the basics of riding on the track, and track safety. The second two sessions cost £30 each and are 2 hours long. These sessions cover riding in close proximity to other riders, an Italian style pursuit (great fun!), and other essential skills.

You do not need your own track bike. Bikes will be provided as part of the accreditation sessions, thereafter bikes, aswell as helmets and shoes are available to hire for a small fee. If you want to race however, you will need your own bike.

Track League
Racing takes place at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome on a Wednesday night from October to March. Each week, points will be awarded over the season to find the overall rider of the year and the best rider in each category. All riders are required to have at least a Silver British Cycling membership and must bring their valid membership card to sign on with them on the night.

In order to race the Glasgow Track League, you must be registered as a member of the league.
For 2021- 2022, all riders wishing to join Glasgow Track League (GLT) will require to register as a member of the GTL up to a maximum of 250 riders. Riders must be Youth B or older to compete. A one-off registration charge of £15 will apply to all riders.

Further details and sign ups are available on the British Cycling website.
